Sister, My Sister
Sister my Sister, can I speak with you for a minute?
No, I don't want to hear your business, cause I ain't trying to be in it.
I'd just like to talk with you if I could and share my views on the lack of “real” sisterhood.
You see I'm guilty and maybe you are the same, of judging my sisters without even knowing their name.

The cheerful girl with bouncy golden curls was almost five. Waiting with her mother at the checkout
stand, she saw them: circle of glistening white pearls in a pink foil box. "Oh please, Mommy. Can I
have them? Please, Mommy, please!" Quickly the mother checked the back of the little foil box and
then looked back into the pleading blue eyes of her little g...Read Full Post »

We always want something that we don't have! If we have straight hair, we want curly! If short and thick, we want to be tall and thin! What drives us to something that we are not or don't have?
We feel like we're missing out on something! Instead of being thankful for what we already have and how we are already wonderfully made!
The key is to thrive where you are! Embrace what you have and use it to the best of your capabilities! More comes as w...Read Full Post »

It's been a little while since I last blogged but felt the need to share a few thoughts of mine. One of the reasons that I haven't written lately is simply because of STUFF! So many distractions, situations, issues, and people and their stuff!
I looked around my bedroom yesterday and decided that I needed to get rid of some stuff! In reality, I realized that stuff was clutter! An overabundance of things that have overflowed the designed bo...Read Full Post »

As I come to the close of our 30 days together on a journey to reinvent ourselves, we have encountered much. Many good days, some not so good days, and some days that we've just made it through! We come through saying "for the grace of God, go I."
Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. ~Anne LamottRead Full Post »

Create in me a clean heart, O God; And renew a right spirit within me. - Psalm 51:10
The Author of this verse was doing a "heart" check. He realized that somewhere down the line he missed the mark. Whether it was in action or in deed, it caught his attention. Have you've ever had one of those days? Your heart is heavy and you don't know...Read Full Post »

The mind is a great battlefield. The Bible tells us that we have the mind of Christ because we have a personal relationship with Him, but we still have to allow or choose to "let" the mind of Christ be in control. Every day we are at war for the control of the mind. Who wins that war is up to us and the choices that we make.
Proverbs 23:7 tells us, "For as he thinks within himself, so he is" (NASB). In other words, what we think about powerfully influences who and what we ...Read Full Post »

One day a man was going on a long trip. He needed his servants to take care of his property while he was gone, so he called them to him.
To the first servant he gave five talents of money. (A talent was not a coin, but a weight of a precious metal such as silver, and one talent was worth more than $1,000. So this servant received money worth more than $5,000.)
This man went to work at once using his money until he had doubled it. He now had ten talents ...Read Full Post »
